GET INVOLVED

Business networking in Surrey is vibrant, with something for everyone.

I've hosted social networking, called Tweetups, in Croydon and, with Redhill Micropreurs, in Redhill and Reigate since 2010.  Redhill Micropreneurs normally organise free co-working days too.

I attend the Family Network East Surrey and Coulsdon Networking Club online now, who met in my home town of Coulsdon, Ewell and Redhill, and  Heavenly Networking in Nutfield.  These are all very informal and friendly, with little or no cost or membership fees.

There are many groups listed on Networking In Surrey and if you want my opinion or help on finding what groups might be right for you, just send me an email and I can give you some thoughts.

My Tweetups were 'real' social networking.  Organised originally and mainly using Twitter, though I post them as Events on my Facebook Page.

It's a chance to meet informally for a social in the evening, outside of business.  Although a lot of us have businesses and met that way, anyone can join in.  Tweetups are a kind of community event where we encourage you to come out from behind the screen and meet in real life.

There are plenty of business networking events, so this is a real chance to get to know each other personally, and/or just meet local people.  For the last few years this has merged with Redhill Micropreneurs social.

There's no format so just join in if you like. We have a group of regulars at all of these as they've been running for years now.   When we meet for real, it's just a case of buying your own drinks and/or food at the bar and having a chat!

Any events I'm running or involved with you should find in Events on my Get Better Coaching Facebook Page.

In normal times, I'd be promoting all local events on Twitter and I'm happy to share information on local groups and businesses around Croydon/South London through towards Redhill and Reigate in Surrey.

Purley Festival is a showcase of what can be done with no marketing budget and a positive attitude.  I started marketing the festival on Facebook and Twitter in 2010 and it grew massively into a multi-stage festival with hundreds of stalls that attracted thousands of people.  I became a Director and Trustee of Purley Festival CIC, mainly working on marketing and responsible for PR and all social media.

I also helped with the Social Media campaign for Purley Business Improvement District and they achieved an almost 95% YES vote, and so, in the top 10% of the country.

Coulsdon Yulefest is a Christmas event I've supported from the start and and in 2016 ran the social media. It involves a Christmas market, funfair, live stage and Christmas Lights Switch on.
