This is our 5th Year!

Purley Festival launched in 2011 and finished with a full day of fun and music of all genres.

In 2012 it grew into a much larger festival, finishing with a whole weekend and both a music and dance stage, acoustic tent, dedicated children’s area and much more. It attracted over 6000 visitors.  In 2013 we had thousands attend and a glorious sunny weekend packed with kids activities, sports activities and, of course, lots of great music.  In 2014 we managed to survive torrential rain for several hours on both days, and it was still a great success and fabulous festival.  The new Children’s Area was fantastic and the free circus skills and older kids activities seemed to go down well.

Purley Festival is a week of activities for all ages and interests, in and around Purley, near Croydon, Surrey followed by

a Festival Finale weekend. The finale showcases local music and dance, stalls, businesses, charities, entertainment and more on the Rotary Fields between Purley and South Croydon.

I’m Head of Social Media and input into marketing and other areas of the festival.  I’ve been on the committee for Purley Festival since it started. If you would like to get involved in the festival, please do get in touch.

Find out more on the Purley Festival Facebook Page.  We continue to share other local information and events on Twitter as well, whilst we are gearing up to our 5th year in 2015!

Croydon Tweetups

Organised by Wendy Ager,

through Dot Social

Next meeting, Weds 21st January at Matthews Yard, Croydon from 7.15pm onwards.  You can visit the Croydon Group here and to see more details.

Tweetups are for anyone who wants to come and meet up socially.

There are plenty of business networking events in Surrey and Croydon so this is an informal opportunity to meet up socially, for those who may have only met online and actually come together and meet up in person.

FREE course for 100 Surrey Women

SurreyWISE is a funded project enabling 100 women across Surrey to benefit from funded training to become more digitally confident.  Workshops will run from January to March 2015.

In 2014, I was chosen to be one of the Digital Coaches. Working with Penny Power OBE, of Digital Business Britain who gained the funding for Surrey via the Women in Broadband Challenge Fund and the Equal Opportunities Office, I’m really excited to be part of this fabulous project.

We hope the success of these workshops will allow further courses to be funded so please watch this space, email me if you want to be considered or know about any other courses I’ll be running soon.

These used to be regular and vibrant meetings in 2011/12 and I resurrected them in Nov 2014. It would be great if we could get them thriving in 2015.   Next Tweetup Thurs 5th Feb from 7.30pm at The Home Cottage, Redhill.
